THE BLUEBUG LANDSCAPE DESIGN PROCESS
If you have questions, please contact Debbie by phone, email, or website message, or submit a Design Questionnaire and she will respond to you right away.
During your initial conversation with her, she will ask you about the current state of your landscape; your hopes and dreams for its future; and practical matters such as your timeline and budget. She will also answer any questions you have about BlueBug Landscape Design and/or the design process.
At that time, you can also schedule a paid Landscape Design Consultation either at your home or via Zoom or FaceTime. This will allow Debbie to further identify your site’s potentials and challenges, suggest appropriate design directions, and provide resources and strategies to help you decide how to proceed with your project.
Following your consultation, and if you feel that BlueBug is a good fit for your project, you may decide to move forward with a simple concept drawing and suggested plant list for a do-it-yourself project, or for detailed landscape drawings and plant lists for your landscape contractor. Whatever you choose, talk with Debbie and she will be happy to send you a proposal outlining the scope of her work for your desired project.

STEP #1
INITIAL CONTACT
If you are interested in learning more about a landscape design project for your home, please contact Debbie by phone, email, or website message, or submit the Design Questionnaire form which provides important information about your wants and needs for your property. During your conversation with Debbie, you may decide to schedule a paid design consultation and she will begin Step #2 in your landscape design project.

STEP #2
Design Consultation
Depending upon your needs and schedule, Debbie will meet with you at your home for a site visit, or virtually by Zoom or FaceTime. This will provide an opportunity for her to further discuss what is needed for your property and collaborate with you on the best design decisions. Virtual consultations are $85 and can last up to one hour. On-site visits are $200 and take about one to two hours. After the scope of work has been defined, and you decide to move forward with a project, Debbie will send you a proposal outlining her services and fees. Upon your acceptance of the proposal, Step #3 begins: conceptual exploration and design of your garden and outdoor living space.

STEP #3
CONCEPTUAL DESIGN PLAN
Debbie will prepare concept drawings that will illustrate how different spaces in your garden may best relate to each other and to your home. These schematic diagrams will highlight proposed features, including circulation patterns, and lines of sight. With your feedback, she will either develop additional concepts that you can use for your DIY project, or if you desire to move forward with complete drawings for your contractor, she will start Step #4, the Detailed Design Plan.

STEP #4
Detailed DESIGN PLAN
Drawn to scale, the detailed design plan shows all the major hardscape and landscape elements, such as plants, irrigation, lighting, and additional features. Also included are supplemental drawings or images that will help illustrate the project and allow you to get a clear picture of the design, as well as provide enough information for your landscape contractor to estimate installation costs.
